Sara Borjas appointed new Director of R&D of Switch Mobility Iberia

Leeds, UK - Chennai, India - Valladolid, Spain – 12 May 2022: Switch Mobility Iberia has appointed Sara Borjas Guerrero as the new R&D Director. After an entire career dedicated to engineering and with extensive experience in the automotive sector, Sara is now holding her new position within the multinational that has recently established its headquarters for Continental Europe in Valladolid.

Sara will lead the company's team of engineers and will be in charge of defining the projects to be undertaken and the tasks to be performed. Sara will be a key player in Switch, working jointly with the UK-based team to create a network of regional suppliers that facilitate the development of Switch in Valladolid as a company committed to reducing its carbon footprint.

Born in Seville, Sara has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Seville, where she also completed her studies with a Master's Degree in Science and Technology of New Materials. In addition, she has an Executive MBA completed at the EAE Business School and is certified as Project Management Associate by IPMA level D.

After completing her training, Sara began her work experience at the Center for Advanced Aerospace Technologies (CATEC) in Seville. Later, between 2015 and 2017, she began her specialization in the automotive industry at Valeo Lighting System, where she worked as an R&D Product Engineer developing plastic parts for Halogen and LED projectors for brands such as Infiniti, Citroën, Peugeot, and Opel. Since 2017, she has been Project Manager in the Engineering Department for Spain of the Renault Group in Valladolid, managing a transversal team for the development and industrialisation of components for the company's new vehicles.
